Followers of this blog will remember that from 2016 to 2018, we were praying for the release of pastor Andrew Brunson from a Turkish prison where he was unjustly held on false charges. We were so grateful for his release.
He details in other talks how prison broke him, how he could not perceive the presence of God in any way. In the talk below, he explains how a daring prayer set him on the path to prison and how intimacy with God nurtured in freedom helped him endure his dark night of the soul in prison.
Andrew’s message convicted me as I grieve hopes deferred in relative luxury. It also comforted me by assuring me that God loves when we engage with him and that he is growing us spiritually and relationally even when we cannot perceive it.
