It is time to pray for At the Crossroads’ Jerusalem gathering once again.
Those of you who have been with me for several years know of my work with At the Crossroads, “a relational network of men and women, both nationals and internationals, serving the nations of the Isaiah 19 Highway in the Middle East.” An invitation for me to document the first gathering in 2012 was my introduction to Christ Church Jerusalem and, more importantly, the often hidden work of the Holy Spirit in the conflict-ridden region.
Every two years, delegates meet in Jerusalem to worship God together, to share testimonies and burdens, to network for future cooperation. Christ Church writes on Facebook:
At the Crossroads Conference, March 19-22, 2018, will be a unique gathering at Christ Church Jerusalem. Nearly 200 delegates are coming from Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Israel, Iraq, the Palestinian Authority, Cyprus, Armenia, Georgia, Turkey, Iran and Kenya. Attendees will worship and pray together in Arabic, Turkish, Kurdish, and Hebrew, and testimonies will be given about the blessings and challenges of following Jesus in this region. Inspired by Isaiah’s vision that the Middle East will be a blessing, Muslim-background followers of Jesus from various Middle Eastern countries will meet with their Christian and Messianic Jewish counterparts to worship and pray together, and to strategize how to help their war-torn region.
“In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria … Israel will be the third with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth, whom the Lord of hosts has blessed, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel my inheritance.” (Isaiah 19:23-25).
The meeting will be held at Christ Church in Jerusalem’s Old City. Included is a short study tour to help Muslim-background believers come to a deeper understanding of Jesus and the scriptures. We do need your support as most participants are involved in difficult ministry situations and live on a minimum income.
- that visas are approved for all 200 delegates.
