This week was notable in that there was conflict in nearly all the nations around Israel, with one brief breach.
The week started with a bang, as jihadists killed more than a dozen Egyptian border guards on their way into Israel. The Israel Air Force made sure the bomb-wearing infiltrators didn’t make it near civilians. The week ended with Jordan firing on Syrian troops as pro-regime soldiers shot at fleeing Syrian refugees.
Saudi Arabia gave its two-cents on an Israel raid into Iran, and Kurdish separatists executed a brazen attack on Turkish troops.
The war on Christians continues worldwide, most fiercely in Nigeria where 19 were killed at a Bible study and then a pastor was murdered in his home.
As Yeshua said:
You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. (Matthew 24 NIV)
