Tel Aviv is the most secular city in Israel, and we believe the LORD is desiring to do a work of repentance and renewal. This will be the third time believers from around Israel and the world will gather in Tel Aviv to worship God and pray for the nation. You can read about last year’s event:
- Jew & Arab praying for each other, Unto Him
- ‘There is Good News in Israel’
- Before the bombings, Arabs & Jews bonded
Already we’re seeing fruit of the Spirit among the young people who attend. Following is a testimony of how God restored a young woman after encountering Him at Elav (which is Hebrew for ‘Unto Him’).
After the video is the latest missive from Rick Ridings, director of 24/7 prayer and worship center Succat Hallel. Forgive me for posting it a few days late.
A Call to Fast and Pray for the Youth
and Young Adults of Israel
by Rick Ridings
Each year we host a conference for Israeli youth/young adults called “Elav”, which in Hebrew means “Unto Him”. By God’s grace, last year we had over 500 Jewish and 150 Arab/Palestinian youth attending. There have been many testimonies of lives transformed by an encounter with God at previous Elav conferences.
This year, I have felt led of the LORD to encourage many to join us in a 24 day fast, to pray Psalm 24 into the lives of those who will attend Elav 2012 on July 7-9 in Tel Aviv (www.elav2012.com). Pray according to Psalm 24 that there will be a work of purification, of becoming a generation that seeks God, and that doors will be opened for the King of Glory to enter into this generation in Israel in a way far greater than ever before.
I invite you to join us in a liquids-only fast for the first 21 days, June 12 – July 2, and then for an “Esther fast” (normally with no food or water) for the last three days, July 3-5.
A couple of months ago, I had a dream in which I saw our guest worship leader from last year’s Elav conference appearing like an elephant knocking over a tree and then uprooting another tree. When I prayed to understand the dream, I felt the LORD was saying that certain spiritual strongholds were knocked down in Tel Aviv last year, but that the Lord wanted to use the worship and prayer this year to fully uproot strongholds.
Please join us in praying that we really will see strongholds in Tel Aviv and Israel uprooted this year. Pray that every young person in Israel who has an appointment with God at Elav 2012 will come, and that nothing can hinder them from attending. Pray that every young person who comes will have a life-changing encounter with God.
I recently returned from speaking at the World Prayer Assembly in Jakarta, Indonesia. What a joy to minister to several hundred on-fire Indonesian youth there, many of whom are Muslim background believers. They are planning to send about 15 of their youth leaders to Elav 2012 to share about the great move of God there, and to pray for an impartation of the fire of the Holy Spirit that is upon them right now. Pray that nothing will be able to hinder them from coming, that they will all receive their visas to enter Israel, and that the Lord will use them mightily in this Elav 2012.
If you are led of the LORD to join us in the full 24 day fast (June 12-July 5), or only for the Esther fast (July 3-5), it would be encouraging if you could send us an email stating that to: firstname.lastname@example.org
If you cannot join us for all or part of the fast, please still do join us in praying for a mighty move of God among the youth and young adults of Israel.
Thank you and shalom from Jerusalem.
