[This post was originally published June 15, 2011. I republish it now as I leave for the UK and Israel. Many, many thanks to my prayer and financial supporters. God sees you sowing into the Kingdom, and you will have your reward.
I head to Israel to attend a conference and to minister to the LORD as a watchman on the walls of Jerusalem (Is. 62:6) and to be your eyes and ears on the ground as the United Nations considers Palestinian statehood in September.
Remember to pray for the Elav conference in Tel Aviv. Scroll down to the bottom of the post to see a video promo. Shalom.]
After much praying and waiting and praying and waiting… I have release from the LORD to return overseas.
It has been in my heart to be back in Jerusalem — the City of the King — by September as it looks like it will be a very busy news month. The Palestinians are still considering asking the United Nations on statehood in September. Police are already preparing for protests. Spiritually, the already tense atmosphere may be exacerbated if Jerusalem is divided to give the Palestinians the capital they desire. And I have an intense desire to be in Jerusalem to witness history, as we maybe about to cross into the last of the Last Days.
Ominous sounding, eh? *grin* I’m excited. I know, I’m weird. I am eager to share what I see and report to you directly from the epicenter. And, if it all fizzles, I can report that to you, too, and write about more ordinary things.
Also, Succat Hallel is hosting the Elav youth conference in mid-August. I will photograph the event for them again (yes, the photos on the website are my work. More of last year’s images on the Photography page.). I am very excited to see how God is continuing to move in the youth of Israel, Jew and Arab alike. (Scroll to the end of this post to see a video about the event.)
I am raising money for this trip. If you are in West Texas or southern New Mexico, I am available for the next month to photograph your family event (wedding, baptism, quinceañera, reunion) or portraits, corporate events or sports team in action. Visit PhotosByLoneStar.com for more info.
If you are lead by the Spirit to support me financially, you may send your tax-deductible gift to
P.O. Box 920784

You may also give online via debit or credit card at JHOPEP.org. (NOTE: The house of prayer is in process of a legal name change to Justice House of Prayer – El Paso from International House of Prayer – El Paso. I’ll let you know when the change is official).
Please do not write anything in the memo line. Leave it blank. Please designate your gift to me in a separate note (or email if giving online).
For smaller gifts that don’t require a tax receipt, you can donate directly to the RoamingChile via PayPal.
How much do I need? Thank God, I just got confirmation that an inexpensive room in Jerusalem I’ve stayed in before is available. For less than $450 a month, I get a private room that includes a kitchenette, a shared bathroom, utilities and internet. Food and a bus pass will run $200-$300 more a month. So, $800 a month would supply my needs to live in Jerusalem.
The airline tickets have been booked. I fly out from El Paso to Cardiff, Wales, UK, to visit my friends and partners at Siloam Baptist in Llanrumney. Then I’m off to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
I’m planning on two months in Israel to serve at Elav, pray at Succat Hallel and document the happenings. I will then travel to Wales as the Feast of Tabernacles is wrapping up to wait on the Lord for the next step.
Thank you again to those who have partnered with me in the past. The LORD is faithful to provide abundantly for those support His workers. Shalom.
