What to pray concerning Mideast, N. Africa unrest

Rick Ridings of Succat Hallel has released a prayer alert for the first week of April. It concerns the turmoil in the Middle East and North Africa. The video alert follows this written synopsis.

As the Middle East and North Africa continue to roil, we must discern the times and stand steadfast in our knowledge of Jesus. Here are three points to pray into as you intercede for the Muslim world.

1. Stand against intimidation and fear that would come against Israel and believers in the Middle East and North Africa

The bus bombing in Jerusalem and murder of family in Itamar the week before that has put Israelis on edge. Ridings says that these crimes show the tactics of Satan: create an atmosphere of fear and intimidation.

A believer in Yeshua who lives in a settlement said that two days before the murder of Fogel family, she felt a demonic presence in her home. She prayed against the spirit of fear, but the presence persisted. Ridings told her to pray against the spirits of Islam, fear and intimidation. After she rebuked those spirits together in the name of Jesus and by the power of His blood, the presence left.

This is real warfare. We battle not against flesh and blood by against principalities. Don’t forget to suit up — Ephesians 6:10-17.

2. Watch and pray over the Mediterranean coast and Tel Aviv

In the Jan. 27 prayer alert, Ridings shared a vision a year and half ago that pointed to an attack on Israel from sea. He saw sharks at the coast and Israel as piece of raw meat. Witches were calling the sharks. In the vision, intercessors cried out for mercy. Then, angels poured the protecting blood of Jesus from horns along the borders of Israel, including the coast line. (To hear Ridings tell of the vision go to YouTube and fast forward to 5 minutes and 48 seconds.)

Ridings had also said that if Mubarak was removed from power in Egypt, Iran would be free to sail war ships into the Mediterranean. Sure enough, at the end of February Iranian ships docked in Syria. After leaving, a ship was tracked from Syria to Turkey. On it’s way to Egypt, where it would have offloaded it’s cargo for over-land shipment (conceivably into Gaza), Israel commandos raided ship. They found 50 tons of weapons including missiles that could sink a thousand-ton ship. Markings on and manuals for the weapons were in Farsi, the language of Iran.

3. Press in for the crumbling of wall of Islam and a great harvest for Christ in North Africa

We see the turmoil and that radical Muslims are positioning to possibly take control of governments in Egypt and Libya. Let’s not be complacent. This shaking is opening a window of opportunity for believers in Jesus to rise out of fear and intimidation and call others to freedom in Christ.

Check out Ridings story (in the video below) of praying Psalm 99 on February 11, 2004: Right after reading it, a 5.0 earthquake struck Jerusalem. The only damage was a crack at the Dome of the Rock shrine. Ridings felt the Lord was saying that a major shaking was coming in the Muslim world. Feb 11, 2011, four years to the day, Egypt’s long-time president Hosni Mubarak resigns. The Muslim worlds has been shaking since.

Pray that Jesus would reveal himself to Muslims in dreams in visions. There are countless testimonies of Muslims who have been visited by Jesus in their sleep… and many who have come to know Him as a result.

One of the verse that the intercessors at Succat Hallel have been praying into is Isaiah 30-12:13. Pray this over Muslim world:

Therefore this is what the Holy One of Israel says:

“Because you have rejected this message,

relied on oppression

and depended on deceit,

this sin will become for you

like a high wall, cracked and bulging,

that collapses suddenly, in an instant.”
